Sketch of a room

My dorm room is currently my home and it seemed like the obvious choice for a sketch of a room. I sat on the floor against my door and drew a lower view of my room. I was really trying to do something quick with basic shapes and ideas rather than details.

Banana Sketch

This is a sketch of a banana, whole and then cut. This was a fun sketch because I got to explore the detail in the peel of a banana when it is dissected. I chose a banana not because I necessarily enjoy them but I have always thought they made great objects for still life sketches.

Key Sketch

This is a quick sketch of my keys that I did in pen. I didn't feel the need to include any background objects or some sort of solid indication of a surface because I wanted the focus to be the keys.

Heritage Quilt Pattern

This was one of my first attempts to use Photoshop. I decided to create a textile using inspiration from my own cultural heritage. Norwegian, Swedish, German and Irish patterns combine to make a pattern that varies in color and detail but as a whole creates a balanced work.
Because I was just starting out in using Photoshop this was not a particularly difficult textile to create. In the future I will work on creating another heritage textile with similar elements that will most importantly force me to improve and continue developing the original design.
